What is composite decking?
“Composite” means something made up of different materials. Composite decking refers to a product made from some combination of organic (wood) and inorganic (plastic) material. The exact materials and composition differ between products, and there is a wide variety of niches across the market: some products are designed to be cheaper than timber, and others are designed and engineered to outperform timber. There is not usually crossover between these categories.
What is PermaTech®?
PermaTech® by NexGEN features advanced, high-performance surface layer protection. Our composite decking is engineered using ionomer polymers to offer exceptional durability and strength. Through a co-rotating extrusion process, it seamlessly bonds a proprietary cap to a hardwood and polyethylene core – resulting in a surface that’s highly resistant to stains, fading, and scratches.
